One of the best parts of watching swimming at the Olympics is seeing each athlete’s friends, family, team and coach react to their incredible performances. And boy, did we get a show last night!

Dean Boxall, who coaches Australian phenom Ariarne Titmus, went off after Titmus out-touched reigning gold medalist Katie Ledecky in the women’s 400-meter freestyle. We’ll let you see for yourself:


Hey, if we’d just coached a swimmer to gold, we’d be hyped too!

At just 20 years old, Titmus was expected to give Ledecky a run for her money. And she certainly delivered! Ledecky fought tooth and nail to maintain a lead for the first 300 meters, but Titmus surged ahead in the last 100, touching first in 3:56.69, about 0.3 off of the World Record. Ledecky finished close behind in 3:57.36 for silver.
