Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

This Turkey Trot swim workout is themed after one of the most celebrated parts of the Thanksgiving day holiday: Eating! Each set-group is themed after a different part of the Thanksgiving Day meal. Every set will test your abilities and generate a big appetite. There are four workout levels:

  • Turkey Trot Mile – 1,600 Meters (30-40 Minutes)
  • Turkey Trot 3k – 3,000 Meters (60-70 Minutes)
  • Turkey Trot 5k – 5,000 Meters (90-110 Minutes)

Thanksgiving is a public holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States. It originated as a harvest festival, and today in modern culture it’s an opportunity to connect with family, give thanks and swim.

Turkey Day Drill: 3 Strokes + 6 Kicks

Each Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot workout incorporates a short drill set in the appetizer warmup. The drill selection of this session is 3 strokes + 6 kicks. Checkout the video and explanation below!

3 strokes with 6 kicks helps you balance your freestyle stroke and improves your coordination by taking three strokes, then balancing on your side for six kicks. Focus on driving the rotation with your hips and legs rather than your arms and add a pair of fins to help keep your body position high.

  1. Hey. Don’t say that the Turkey Trot Mile is great for “beginners.”

I’ve worked long and hard to get to the point where I can swim a mile.

    Don’t call me a beginner.

And have a great Thanksgiving! I love the app and use it every day!

    1. Hi David, this workout is free for everyone, whether they have the app or not! 🙂 You can manually type in the sets into your app if would like it pre-loaded. We are working on an easier solution for this though, so stay tuned. Sorry about that!

  2. I’m having trouble finding these workouts on the app. Is there a search function I’m missing? I’m using the app on a samsung phone for reference.
