There is a huge advantage of training with a personal swim coach. Working 1-on-1 with a coach gives you the opportunity to receive personalized feedback and training plan modifications on a regular basis. This allows you to improve and reach your goals faster.
While we all can not afford or have the luxury of a personal coach at the pool with us, the next best thing is MySwimPro, a personal coach on your wrist!

The Swim Coaching Algorithm

The newest update to our Personal Swim Coaching algorithm is pretty amazing.
If you’re swimming a structured workout with a compatible smartwatch (Apple Watch, Garmin, or Fitbit), the MySwimPro app will analyze your performance during the workout, then afterwards make smart recommendations to your dynamic interval times so your training plan and next workout are more personalized to you.

This is the next-level of personal coaching.

We all have different skills, goals and training abilities, so it’s super important to make sure your swim workouts are personalized to your speed to help you meet your goals.

How The Coaching Algorithm Works

After completing a workout in the MySwimPro app, you’ll see a pop-up appear that recommends interval times that are more personalized to your performance.
If you’re unfamiliar with this setting, please checkout this article on how Dynamic Intervals personalize workouts in the MySwimPro app.

As you can see in the screenshots above, on the left are the original dynamic interval times, the middle screenshot shows the recommendations, and the right are the adjusted intervals that are made specifically for you.

The more data the app collects during a swim workout, the more accurate this algorithm becomes.

This level of personalization is extremely valuable when it comes to completing a workout that’s designed 100% for you.

Both workouts above are 2,800 meters and the sets, and set-groups are the exact same. The core difference are the intervals assigned to each workout.
On the left, you’ll see the generic intervals from our swim workout library, and on the right, you’ll see the intervals automatically personalized using the dynamic interval times from the screenshot in the center.
As you can see, the intervals are now much faster in the screenshot on the right. The algorithm tailors the workout to each swimmer, and adjusts accordingly to help reach your goals.
To access this feature, you’ll need to be a member of the MySwimPro ELITE subscription and on the latest version of the app!

I have been manually entering my times, but am not seeing any changes made to my paces. Is there something else I should be doing? Unfortunately, I cannot afford a performance watch at this time, so am simply timing each interval then entering on my app manually. Will this work)

    • Hi there Troy, sorry about that! You encountered a bug that we actually just fixed 🙂 Can you please update your MySwimPro app to the latest version and try it again? If you have any more issues or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team at support@myswimpro.com.
      Thank you!

  2. I have the latest update, am an elite subscriber, but I have yet to receive a pop up with newly recommended times. Is it because my pace is still too slow? The times that I manually entered a while ago are fine?
