It’s really important to have a well rounded training program to achieve results in the pool. This means working out all the different energy zones and strokes through a training plan. This Workout of the Week focuses on building your aerobic capacity through freestyle training. The mean set is designed to test your aerobic threshold on a series of 100s freestyle. Have fun!

Workout Statistics:

  • Distance: 3,400m
  • Duration: 56 Minutes
  • Focus: Endurance (Freestyle)

Main Set

  • 6 x 100s Freestyle @ 1:20 – THRESHOLD
  • 1 x 400 Freestyle @ 6:00 – NEGATIVE SPLIT
  • 6 x 100s Freestyle @ 1:15 – THRESHOLD

  2. Can a sidestroke option be added to the app? I don’t swim freestyle. Could never get comfortable with it. But I do workout with breaststroke, backstroke and sidestroke. I want to be able to enter the sidestroke into the app when I log my swims.

    • Thank you for your feedback! We currently don’t have Sidestroke as a specific stroke, but you could track sidestroke just as ‘Stroke’ in the app and that will work. Let me know if you have any questions!
