April was one of the most jam-packed months we’ve had since starting MySwimPro. Our team members ventured into all parts of the country for different development and marketing events that are helping us grow. You can read the March 2018 update here. Take a behind the scenes look at what our team has been up to this month!
ALSO: We’re hiring – shoot me an email if you’re interested in joining our growing team.

USA Swimming #SwimBiz

It was exciting to speak at USA Swimming’s fourth annual #SwimBiz marketing conference. The three-day event was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado and featured keynote speakers from industry leading sports marketing professionals and the top swim clubs across the United States.

In my presentation, I shared examples of how club teams and organizations can leverage different social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to build partnerships. In the presentation, I highlighted our partnership with Masters Swimming Canada.

NEW: Heart Rate Analytics

We recently launched new analytics with Heart Rate Segments for our community members who swim with an Apple Watch! After you save a workout, you can see your heart rate graphed over the course of the swim, and easily see your intensity on the graph for each set.

The heart rate graph will appear for all workouts logged from an Apple Watch (assuming enough heart rate data is collected). Under the graph, you can find your average and maximum heart rate for the workout. It’s a truly remarkable experience with more enhancements coming in future updates.

Garmin Developer Summit

Adam, Mike and I attended the second annual Garmin Developer Summit at Garmin International in Olathe, Kansas. It was our second year attending the event. At this year’s conference we were excited to share our new Connect IQ App that helps coach swimmers through structured workouts. The Garmin Developer Summit was a great opportunity to explore the Connect IQ ecosystem and meet with the team behind the platform’s vision and creation.

Michigan Masters State Championships

Team MySwimPro raced at the Michigan Masters State Championships at Eastern Michigan University with spectacular performances across the board. Our squad brought together 12 swimmers ages 23 to 69 to compete in the three-day competition that featured over 300 U.S. Masters Swimmers from across the state of Michigan. Checkout the recap video below!

With 12 swimmers, the MySwimPro Championship team scored a total of 351 points for a 9th place finish in the team championship standings. In Masters Swimming each athlete competes against swimmers in their own gender and age group (every 5 years). Age groups are 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39…

Michigan Health Expo

Paige recently got back from participating in the 2018 Wellness Day at a local automative supplier company, Harman International. We had a great time getting out in our local community, and meeting with their 1,000 employees to spread awareness about the benefits of swimming!

The MySwimPro team had a booth during the vendor expo, where visitors could learn more about how to get involved with swimming through the MySwimPro app. We always love meeting swimmers that are training with MySwimPro, and it’s even more rewarding to meet swimmers that are local in our backyard!

Fitbit App – Home Page of App Store

We’re super pumped to see our native Fitbit application featured on the homepage of the Fitbit App Store. If you have a Fitbit Ionic or Versa smartwatch, MySwimPro is available for download right from the Fitbit App!

University of Michigan SI 487 Capstone Project

We are so lucky to have been able to work with such talented students at the University of Michigan’s School of Information this Winter 2018 Semester. Their capstone project was helping us revamp our on-boarding experience for MySwimPro community members. Shout out to Alissa Chan, Julia Locke, Julien Childress, and Ted Anderson.

If you have any questions about what we’re up to or joining our team (we’re hiring), please shoot me an email at fares@myswimpro.com.
Until next month, Happy Swimming!
Sincerely,
Fares
